02.01.2018: New year, new game. As already mentioned I only flew around 30 hours last year, what a shame for someone who has his own plane waiting every day in the hangar. Some guys at our flying club did 100+ hours with their homebuilts, but of course they are all retired and are not bothered by a 150% job…

When surfing on the internet to find some attractive, far away flying destinations for this year I came across a video from the fly-in of the Swedish EAA I attended in 2015. It contains some nice shots of my plane too, and can be found under https://vimeo.com/130563138.

15.01.2018: A short break in the very poor weather gave me the opportunity to go flying today. I was actually at work in the morning, but then I suddenly thought “what the hell, I decided to fly more often this year”, so I went home again and from there to airfield.

My last landing was on the 1st of November, and the 3rd last on the 22nd of September, so I decided to do three landings today so that the next time I have the opportunity to go flying I can again take a passenger with me. Unfortunately we currently have a restriction in Lommis which allows only one landing per pilot per day due to the soft terrain, so I went to Wangen-Lachen (LSPV) to do two landings, which has a paved runway.

Wangen-Lachen was deserted when I landed, but when I wanted to depart again there was a Pilatus Turbo Porter approaching. A closer look revealed that it was one of the Swiss Air Force practicing landings on the relatively short 500 m runway.

Even though the weather wasn’t too nice today there was a spectacular light, and the sky belonged to me alone (apart from the Air Force Turbo Porter…).
