08.09.2018: I found another slot to go flying, and I have to take this chance as I will be in Australia from tomorrow for at least ten days. There were quite some clouds over the alps, but apart from that there were perfect weather conditions.

Due to the temperature being significantly above ISA my Dynon indicated a density altitude of 14’250 ft when flying at 12’800 ft. From the flight test results a theoretical ceiling altitude of 15’000 ft was calculated for my SportCruiser under ISA conditions, which seems to be confirmed. The climb rate at 14’250 ft was still significantly above 100 ft/min, which defines the ceiling altitude, but I was also flying significantly below max take-off weight (around 500 kg).

I initially intended to fly to Matterhorn, but the closer I got to my destination the denser the clouds were. I therefore turned back towards Lommis after maybe 45 minutes of flying.

16.09.2018: I returned this morning from Australia. The weather already looked great for flying at around 7 in the morning when we approached Zurich. Unfortunately I however had no time to go flying.

22.09.2018: Today I made another flight over the alps, with weather which clearly indicates that autumn is coming.

26.09.2018: I had to go to Brussels today, flying as usual with my favourite airline. Below a nice early morning shot of a Bombardier C-Series, respectively Airbus A220 as is called now, in Zurich, with the mountains in the background to which I typically fly to when I go flying for an hour.

On the return flight in the evening I managed to take some nice night shots when lining up on runway 25R in Brussels…

…and looking back over Brussels airport when turning south towards Zurich.
